Michael Bowman Guitar Lessons

I'm back! As of August 2023, I will be teaching lessons again.

Now offering guitar lessons on route 33 west just outside of Harrisonburg, VA!

Learn guitar skills as well as general music skills. I like to develop my students into having a broad understanding of music so that they can forge their own musical path.

*(I am currently only accepting adult students.)

Lessons are usually based in pop, classical, folk, country, bluegrass, blues, and jazz styles, but we can always explore most any genre.

-Learn to read music and to play tunes by ear.

-Learn rhythm, lead, flatpicking, fingerstyle techniques, etc

-Learn about melody, and harmony, along with music theory.

-Beginners to advanced students welcome

-Learn musical fundamentals to help you compose music or learn your favorite song

-Learn to accompany your voice!

Rate: $50 for an hour lesson (free book with first lesson).

My credentials:

- Music degree from JMU (classical guitar)

- Have performed with many groups in Virginia and Georgia including The Little Country Giants, Dogwood Tales, Adam Klein and the Wildfires, The Dish Dogs, Western Star, and my own band The Good Saloon

- 5+ years of teaching experience and happy students!

- Guitar Teacher at Red Wing Academy (summer music camp at EMU)
