Brady Piano Studio
About
I hold degrees in music from Rhodes College, University of Memphis and Indiana University, where I completed my doctoral studies before coming to teach at James Madison University in 1980. In addition to many rewarding years of piano teaching at JMU, I performed solo piano and chamber music recitals in the US and Europe (France, Belgium, Portugal and Ireland). I retired as Professor Emeritus at JMU in 2020. I now devote my time and attention to students that I teach in my home studio.
Piano lessons include an emphasis on technique, theory, sight reading, practical keyboard skills, composition and building confidence in performing for others. Group studio classes and informal recitals for students provide opportunities for critical listening and playing for others. I strive to help make learning music an exciting, rewarding, and enjoyable experience for every student!
