About
Thank you for your interest in piano lessons! Fishersville Piano Studio, LLC offers piano lessons to all ages (kids and adults) and all levels in lesson lengths of 30, 45, and 60 minute options. I have 13+ years of teaching experience, Master’s degree in piano and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in music theory from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Bachelor’s in piano performance from Illinois Wesleyan University. I teach students from beginner to advanced levels and have had multiple of my private piano students accepted to major in music in college.
I taught private piano lessons to kids 5+ and adults at music studios in Illinois and North Carolina prior to my move to Virginia and have experience teaching beginner through advanced levels. I have taught group piano classes to kids and adults as well. As a graduate teaching assistant during my master’s and beyond, I have taught class piano and aural skills classes to undergraduate music majors. I attend and give presentations at state/national conferences and continued pedagogical education to stay on top of current trends and improvements in the piano pedagogy field so that I can offer my students as much as possible. Students will learn repertoire, proper technique, music theory, aural skills, sightreading, and more. As everyone is an individual, I do not put everyone in the same method books or same repertoire and we select what works best for each student. Lessons are clearly structured so that time is not wasted and will always learn new material and skills!
(This page and website are currently a work in progress, as I am first focused on teaching and haven’t gotten the technological end completely done!)
