We have several children taking piano lessons from Morgan Showalter and we are extremely impressed by her musical ability as well as her skill in teaching. She is very motivating and encouraging to each student and connects well with each different personality. We have four students (ages 7 to 17) taking lessons from her right now and she is excellent at working with a wide variety of ages and skill levels. My children really enjoy playing the piano, and we all look forward to seeing her each week! We give her our highest recommendation!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I teach students classical and chord based methods to improve their piano abilites. We focus on sightreading, rhythm, sheetmusic, chords and other interatice activities. I write down each week's assignments on a notebook, and we build upon each conept each week.

How did you get started teaching?

Family friends of ours asked me to teach their oldest daughter piano. I said yes, and my teaching journey began! Now I teach at a school and give in-home private lessons.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with age ranges from five to teen to adult! I have worked with energetic students, with diligent dutiful students, with jumpy expressive students, with busy moms, with attentive and eager students. You name it!

Are you willing to commit to this journey? Are you excited to see your piano abilities improve? Are you dedicated to practice what you learn? If you answer yes to the above questions, then piano lessons would be a wonderful fit for you!

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Do you have a piano or a keyboard? (This is important for weekly practicing.)
