Hi! I teach piano locally in Colorado Springs to students ages 6-12. I’ve been teaching for 10 years and love connecting with students and helping them see the joy and fun in piano! What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach young students (ages 6-12) classical and chord based methods to improve their piano abilites. We focus on sightreading, rhythm, sheetmusic, chords and other interatice activities. I write down each week's assignments on a notebook, and we build upon each conept each week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience as a piano teacher since 2015 with over 50 students.
Over 8 years of experience in chord technique serving as pianist in churches.
Experience in solfege, sightreading, classical music, chords, and improvisation.
Attended the Injury Preventative Piano Technique workshop at Salem College under Dr. Barbara Lister-Sink.
Accompanist at annual Sadie Rose Candle Lighting event.
Author of a chord method book and video course teaching chords.
Author of custom composition books.

Students sign up per semester (fall/spring/summer). Tuition can be paid one time or monthly.
How did you get started teaching?
Family friends of ours asked me to teach their oldest daughter piano. I said yes, and my teaching journey began! Now I teach at a school and give in-home private lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with age ranges from five to teen to adult! I have worked with energetic students, with diligent dutiful students, with jumpy expressive students, with busy moms, with attentive and eager students. You name it!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Are you willing to commit to this journey? Are you excited to see your piano abilities improve? Are you dedicated to practice what you learn? If you answer yes to the above questions, then piano lessons would be a wonderful fit for you!
