Easy going and very experienced music teacher.
Currently also teach online college level Music courses for Northern Virginia Community College.
I love teaching and ALL kinds of music. I have a lot of experience playing blues, rock, folk, coutry, as well as classical music.
I am a patient with teacher and can help you improve quickly. Beginners age 10 or older are welcome. I Prefer teaching on Skype or Zoom- and have been doing this for years.
Why are my fees higher than some teachers? I have A LOT of experience teaching in a wide variety of styles and only accept a few students.
I am fine with an initial 1/2 hour lesson to see if we are a good fit. After that I teach 45 minute or 1 hour lessons.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start by determining the level a student is at. Then we work together to create a learning plan for future lessons. I like to include some music theory along with guitar or bass lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have many years of performing and teaching experience: guitar, bass, theory, composition. I'm easy going and like for my students to enjoy their lessons!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I only teach in 45 minutes or 1 hour segments. I am willing to have an initial lesson of 30 minutes for $25 (prepaid), but all lessons after that are $40 for 45 minutes and $50 for a full hour.
My rates are slightly higher because I have A LOT of teaching experience - and I only accept a few students. Beginners age 10 and up are fine.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching after I graduated from Berklee College of Music. I teach guitar, bass, and theory. I teach Rock, Blues, Country, Folk, and Jazz.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach students who are absolute beginners through experienceds players. Generally 10 years old and up seems to work best.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure you find a teacher who is experienced, patient, and who cares about your progress as a musician.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Please read my profile and pricing carefully. If it sounds like we might be a good fit - please contact me! Otherwise please don't - I get many requests for lessons, let's not waste each others time if you are looking for cheap lessons. - Thanks!
