Guitar By Max
About
My name is max, I am thirty years old and have been playing guitar/writing and recording music for the better part of the last fifteen years. I primarily teach the basics/practical side of the instrument rather than pile on loads of homework studying theory. Though I am well versed in some of the more advanced applications as well.
If you are looking to get into learning the guitar as a new hobby, or needing some one on one tutoring to become a rock star, I can definitely get you on your way!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do when I start teaching a new student is assess their current skill level. Find out how much knowledge they already have. Some students have years of self taught experience that may come with some bad habits. It's always good to take stock of what needs doing on an individual level to begin with, rather than a "one size fits all" approach to all students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken professional lessons from age 10-21, played/toured with multiple bands and worked as a studio recording guitarist for local artists with my home studio.
Guitar is my trade, though I do dabble with drums, bass guitar, keyboard/paino in my free time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer lessons in 30 minute increments, priced at $25 per lesson. I also will come to your home or meet you at a local library/park if you are unable to come to me (so long as it's 15 miles or less from my location)
How did you get started teaching?
After taking lessons for so many years and falling in love with the instrument I knew I wanted to spend my life involved with some aspect of it. Building them, playing them, etc, but teaching others seemed like the quickest/easiest path. I applied for various teaching posostions at local community centers over the years, and have recently started offering them directly myself.
