My teaching approach:I prefer my students to read music, but do not insist on it. I teach reading on all levels but also tablature. My approach is to make each student feel comfortable with custom made lessons. I do not believe in a one size fits all program. I am an expert at chord-melody. I also excel in blues, ragtime, rockabilly and all other roots music. My influences are:James Burton, Les Paul, Curtis Mayfield, Jimi Hendrix and Dave Van Ronk just to name a few.My guitar lessons take place in:The student's homeGuitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours:7 Days a week by appointment.Guitar Techniques:Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment SelectionYour first guitar lesson with me might include the following:I would have the student play a song to evaluate where their playing ability is, ask a few questions, i.e. what types of music do they like best and then proceed to give them a lesson in that genre at their already established level. I want a beginner to play something their very first lesson, even if it's simple.A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:My lessons are custom made for every single student. I do not believe in a one size fits all program. I encourage students to bring in music that I can transcribe and teach them how to play. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:A student that picks up the instrument everyday, even if it's only for 15 minutes.
