Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:
For older beginners (10+), I start by teaching 2 chords, Eminor and Aminor and how to strum the guitar. I will show you how to make you hands comfortable. I am always friendly. For the younger students (5-9) I start them out on a book called "Easy method for little guitar Pickers", which teaches songs by reading and playing individual notes.
A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:
I am a song based teacher. I start new students on a simple song such as "Let it be" as soon as possible. Each lesson we will work on the song(s) and developing strumming skills, and the ability to change chords quickly. My lessons are not based on a structure, but rather on the student's skills, needs and desires.
The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:
My ideal guitar students wants to sing along with the guitar:) The ideal student is consistent in his/her leassons and practices not because it is necessary, but because he/she loves to play the guitar.
