Learning to play guitar with Josh Dixon is a truly enjoyable and enriching experience. Josh has a remarkable ability to make lessons engaging and fun, which keeps me motivated and excited to learn. One of the things I appreciate most is how he breaks down songs into manageable, easy-to-learn sections, making even complex pieces feel approachable.
In addition to teaching me how to play guitar, he also incorporates the theory behind the notes, helping me understand the why as well as the how. This deeper insight has really enhanced my appreciation for music. What makes the experience even more personalized is his willingness to tailor lessons around songs I’m genuinely interested in.

I cannot recommend Josh highly enough. Our young teen son has been taking guitar lessons from Josh for over 2 years. He is now playing everything from country to metal, starting on acoustic guitar and now mastering an electric. Not only has Josh been a great teacher, he goes out of his way to help his students succeed. He makes lessons fun and engaging. He allows students to have a say in the music they would like to learn to play but also challenges them in a positive way. He truly cares and encourages his students, bringing out the best in them. Highly recommend Mr. Josh!

I took bass guitar lessons from Josh for over two years, and over the course of those years I learned a ton from him! His teaching style worked really well for me, given that it was more song- and riff-based rather than exercise-based, so both my ability to play plus my knowledge base of songs expanded a lot over my time taking lessons. Overall, I would recommend him to anybody looking to play guitar or bass at any level, since he always meets your skills where you are and builds up from there in a way that actually improves both your playing and your confidence!

Josh is an amazing guitarist and super nice guy. He’s very patient and helpful. As an adult taking lessons for the first time, he tailored lessons to what I wanted to do - mainly picking songs I liked and helping me learn how to play them. If some chords were too “hard,” he’d show me alternate, easier ways to play it similarly. I’d recommend him to anyone learning to play or existing players who want to advance!

Joshua is an outstanding instructor. We first enrolled our son when he was young, starting him on the ukulele, and he quickly progressed to guitar. Over the years, we’ve worked with Joshua both in person and remotely, and his guidance has only deepened our son’s love for playing and strengthened his skills. Joshua’s mellow, encouraging approach—paired with his willingness to let our son choose the direction of his music—has made learning both fun and inspiring. Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
1 hour per month $80.00
2 hours per month $150.00
3 hours per month $210.00
4 hours per month $260.00
5 hours per month $300.00
lessons may be split up into 30 min, 45 min, 60 min, 90 min, or 120 min per session as needed based on students skill level and goals. And additional hours beyond five hours will be billed at $55.00/hour .
How did you get started teaching?
It was the natural next step after five years of study with Michael Fath. I'm currently in my 11th year of training with Michael.
