About
Hello: I've gigged and taught for over 35 years. I love the teaching aspect of music. I like to make sure you start out with the "right" foundation. I take a very relaxed approach so that you can feel comfortable comprehending what is being taught.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Beginner: I start by introducing the parts of the guitar. Then, move on to teaching how to make "quality" notes on the guitar. After that, me move to learning chords and how to change between them.
Intermediate: I'll assess your current ability, and then we'll move on to songs and styles "You" want to play.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been Gigging close to 35 years and have "real world" experience in the ability to guide you to any level you desire to achieve. Wheather its setting on your deck and strumming a few songs, or performing. I'll guide you in the right direction.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge a $30 per half hour and $40 for a full hour.. Music stores will charge about that much for only 30 minutes. To me, 30 minutes is simply not enough to 1) not feel rushed 2) comprehend what you are being taught, and 3) trying out what you are learning.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching based on people coming up to me at gigs and wondering if I would teach them. I've never lost sight of what its like to be a beginner or intermediate level player. I like that it keeps me grounded and humble.

What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students very young up to 70 years of age. I have flexibility built in to my teaching where I can target each "individual" as they make progress or lack of it.
