Sean C's Miscellaneous Lessons
About
I've been giving lessons only a couple years around the Hampton Roads area, but I have many varied interests and I have finished undergrad very strong. I graduated ODU's School of Music last year, and while I figure out my next steps I'm opening my work availability as much as possible. I consider myself a developing Renaissance Man (preference for knowledge, learning, arts and sciences) and I love to help people.
Seeing students spark their critical thinking, finding inherent (intellectual) value in their work, and desiring to make the world a smarter, better place never can get old!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I would ask them their desires concerning the subject, their dreams for their professional life, and some fun facts about themselves!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and a Bachelors in Music Performance, Art History minor. I taught music and tutored privately during both periods of schooling.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
It depends on how far I have to travel, but a standard rate of $25 for hour lessons, $20 for half hour lessons seems reasonable.
How did you get started teaching?
With teaching guitar lessons around my area.
What types of students have you worked with?
Most age groups: from the early teens to the older generations. Other than an individual with ADHD, I haven't worked with anyone with significant special needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I placed sixth out of several hundred guitarists in a regional arts competition shortly after high school.
