I focus on what makes the guitar so much fun, it should be play, not work. I've been playing guitar since 2002 and have played in Bands since 2005. I went to school for audio production because I believe music is a process of self discovery and while guidelines are helpful rules are meant to be broken.
Seeing someone catch the music bug is incredibly rewarding to me. And it's always an honor to be the first person someone ever plays music with.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I know guitar can be a lot to take in so we start with basic coordination exercises that also incorporate a sense of timing or groove. By starting and staying musical we can keep it fun through the beginning stages.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I taught myself and so my angle is to teach you in a way that you don't need me. Try out a free lesson and make sure I'm what your looking for in a teacher. Ideally after a few lessons you will understand enough to continue your musical journey.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge for Playable minutes. One Half hour lesson will have 3 playable minutes for a brand new student. Playable minutes means: I show you what and how to play something and then I time you and listen for 1 minute at a time. The minute doesn't count if the student stops. Students can buy Minutes up front with considerable discounts above 100 minutes.
How did you get started teaching?
People liked listening to me play and started asking questions that I happen to have the answer too. I've always been intersted in why music works the way it does and I don't mind explaining it.
What types of students have you worked with?
5 year olds to 60 years old, mostly beginners but every once and a while I get a student that's already been playing a while and thats really fun because we can dive into deeper practice.

Seeing something an Idea click in someones eyes.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure that teacher is fun, there is already too much work invovled in learning, without interest and fun the music will suffer.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
At the end of the day I can only show you the path, you must actualize it. Guitar is 100% self-responsibility.
