    Frequently asked questions

I work with students as young as 4 or 5, so I train the parents to coach at home. Once the student is reading ready, they gradually transition to more independent practice.

I have extensive training by SAA certified teachers, but more importantly, I continue to seek out training and research opportunities with Japanese master teachers of the Suzuki Method.

I offer lessons at $1 per minute. Lessons range from 15, 30, 45, and 60 minute durations, depending on the level.

I started teaching at the now definct VCU Community School of the Performing Arts, and was the Suzuki Piano Coordinator before opening my own studio.

Ages 4-19, all learning styles and abilities are nurtured in the piano studio.

Group classes are held 7 times throughout each year. Students of similar levels perform in a masterclass setting. They are great listeners! They love to compliment and connect with their fellow piano mates. They offer kind suggestions on gow to improve pieces and learn how to be excellent audiences.

Research the Talent Education Institute in Matsumoto, Japan. Look into the Suzuki Method for classical muisc instruction. If you believe this is a good fit for long term music education for your child, then find the teacher that connects well will your child.

Is music an extracurricular activity? Or is it something you wish to use to help develop your child's mind, body and character?
