About
As far as teaching goes(Drums,Piano, Bass Guitar, Music/Audio Production), I pride myself on building a connection with each and every one of my students and I use that connection to engage them in music. Its more than learning a song or two, its about performing on the instrument and really being able to artistically and articulately express themselves. I teach drums and piano for ages 5+.
As far as DJ services, Music Performance(Drums & Piano), or Audio Engineering/Music Production work goes, I make sure to really hear what the client is asking for. Deposits get you started if you cannot pay in full. I also am able to take afterpay as well IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.
I have been teaching for 10 years now, playing for longer, and doing music/audio production for 8 years now. Everything I teach comes from real world experience and not just from my degree. You will have a great time whether you are getting entertained or educated. Looking forward to working with you

Frequently asked questions

1)We get rid of the nerves!
2)The layout of the instrument and the fundamental technique to begin playing!
3)Notes to Scales, Scales to Chords, Chords to Songs for Piano!
4)Notes to Scales, Scales to Patterns and Shapes, Patterns and Shapes to Songs for Bass Guitar

(reading music is a must for percussion and piano lessons)
4)We have FUN!
In all of this, we work individual things specific to the student's musical interests and reference points! Of course, the parents have a say so in this as well!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching music since 2012 and been playing music my whole life!
My formal education came from high school and college(Norfolk State University) where I started out as a Music Education Major and then, switched over to the Media, Recording, and Performance side of things. Currently have a degree in Audio Production and Engineering(Full Sail University) and currently finishing a degree in music composition for film,tv, and video games!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Very simply structure! The lessons are booked in blocks of 35 mins, 45 mins, or an hour! I recommend 1-2 lessons along with daily practice weekly to see desired results. No missed lessons! If we cannot reschedule the lesson for another day that week or double up the next week then I will record a video lesson for the student for them to continue their progression! You can view lesson pricing and packages in the photos section
How did you get started teaching?
My music theory professor(at the time) overheard me explaining a particularly difficult concept to someone using the piano and how I use it in my personal playing. He pulled me to the side and told me I had a bright future in private education and that I should learn more about the stage, studio, and performing these concepts in real time!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many types of students and all of them have ranged from beginner to advanced!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Realizing that I have been in Richmond for 3 years and being able to have gotten myself back into doing music again as well as acquiring my LLC in August of 2018!(almost full time). Relocated back to Hampton recently and being able to continue to teach students in both locations!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
See if they are the right kind of teacher for you! While we all teach the same information, we all offer different perspectives and depths to these that may click with you a little different than the next person. A normal conversation can tell you if this person is right for you or not.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
All questions can be asked!
