1. I have 45 years of professional playing and teaching experience.
2. I am certified in the State of Virginia to teach music in public schools and actively teaching now. I have taught in several colleges in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia.
3. I have a Masters Degree in Music Theory/Composition.
4. I have written a method that has been used in countless students success stories.
My students go on to learn other instruments at a very high level by using the knowledge they gain from my instruction. This provides a life long benefit enabling them to pursue interest that come throughout their lives.
Music offers many benefits to our lives. It is proven to help our mental capacity, expand our connection with others, and with that, often a smile. I take great pride in offering instruction that can take a beginner to a complete musician that plays guitar. it is really cool to see some of my student excell at music. I always have someone to jam with that can really play.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Introductions, how to hold the instrument properly, how to then properly pick the strings and frett the instrument. Explain the basics of musical notation.

How did you get started teaching?
When I was 17, my guitar teacher told me that I was good enough to start teaching beginners and the store had an opening.
