About
Teaching since 1980. I pursued a piano performance degree at Brigham Young University. I hold a piano recital each year to showcase my students’ talents and I regularly perform professionally at weddings, parties, and the like. Aside from private instruction, I also played piano at the Bellevue Square Nordstrom for 13 years between 1986 and 1999.
I enjoy seeing my students improve and enjoy the experience! I believe that having fun is important, to keep my students motivated. I truly care about each of my students, and only want them to succeed and love music!

I was not able to work with him. He text bombed me when I let him know I was driving. He also texted me at a late hour at night. I would not hire this man! 😠

Tom is an excellent teacher! He made me - a 32 years old adult who has no experience at all feel confident and comfortable even at the first lesson with him. He combines piano knowledge and practice in such a fun way. I also appreciative his teaching pace, he makes sure to teach as much as he can in the limited time, so by the end of the lesson I felt I have learned so much already. Plus Tom explains to me the terms I dont understand as English is not my first language and after his explaination they all made sense, I think thats an important skill for teaching a ESL student. I feel honored to be able to learn from him and I highly recommend Tom as your piano teacher as well!

I have been taking lessons from Tom for just over a year and have thoroughly enjoyed them! As a 31 year old guy, Im way outside the average age range of most piano students and Tom clearly adapts to students of any age. He is a great resource when learning how to understand sheet music and will guide you through songs you want to learn. I have a great time at every lesson going over songs, asking questions or just joking around.

Besides being an excellent pianist, Tom Manley is a patient teacher and very pleasant to work with. He is encouraging and keeps me on task. I appreciate his guidance in the nuances of each piece I tackle, and his extensive knowledge of music theory--he makes learning lively and interesting.
