About
At Attuned lessons are uniquely designed to give you the skills you need to make the music you want to make. We begin by teaching a single instrument, for example, guitar. We learn about how a guitar works, how you play it and how different guitarists have defined and redefined how the instrument can be used. But underlying the guitar are universal music concepts that can be applied to any instrument anywhere; things like tone, melody, rhythm and composition. Once you’ve got a handle on the guitar we learn about how these musical concepts can be applied in other places. Depending on interest and creative curiosity, in our lessons we can explore guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, basic recording and production, music notation, classical composition, song and lyric writing, playing with a band, and performing music. The process of learning music is never complete. We hope to give our students the tools they need to spend their whole lives learning, playing and enjoying music.
I love sharing in the process of making music! Whether it's in lessons or in performance and collaboration, music is a pursuit that gives so much back and you continue to learn and engage with the process.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Once we gauge your musical abilities and what you are interested in learning, we could go whatever direction we see fit! Most lessons will start with some exploration of instrumental techniques, but what I'm really interested in is getting you to write music for yourself in a style that you enjoy.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in Music Composition from Seattle Pacific University, I've played on over a dozen album including my own full length album, and I've toured the western United States many times. More importantly I'm a lifelong learner and a believer that music and art are crucial components of our own lives and central to any thriving community.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have flexible rates but lessons start at $240 a month for four lessons.
