I've been studying jazz and ethnomusicology since I was 14, have 10+ years experience on the instrument with a vast array of musical and Sonic knowledge. Have certifications in multitracking, and a few credits shy of a degree in audio production that I'm soon to complete. Have operated a recording studio in sodo, and am now in a private residence where I've spent a good amount of time teaching friends how to read and how to play music. One friend of mine, first time sitting down with a bass was able to play motwon songs in a couple hours.
While in school, I was a tutor for any class that the music department offered. Audio engineering, music theory, sound design, audio production, multi tracking, composition, acoustics. If they taught it, I taught it too.
I am an informal teacher, I will not present to you a holy Grail nor will I present false destinations. Wherever we go, there we are. I'll see you when I see you, and I'm sure you'll do great. I'm anti pressure, pro feeling relaxed and positive. I can give you resources, advice and instruction. But only you can make you better.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I want to know what you know. This gives us a good place to start, and we can go from there. When I have a student who is brand new and has only held or touched an instrument I like to give a tutorial of "how to music" talk about the tools we'll use, and approaches on how to practice, and most of all how to feel comfortable holding the instrument to make it seem less foreign or intimidating.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My mother was a piano teacher. I grew up hearing music day in and day out. I started playing guitar at age 12 and then started studying music theory around different parts of the world, scales and approaches to improvising when I was 14. I've had over 8 years of private lessons and I've completed the majority of credits for music performance as well as audio engineering with some credits here and there to clean up.
