We are the only martial arts school to teach eight traditional styles in a single comprehensive system. Oom Yung Doe training is the most effective conditioning method available today and includes strong self-defense application. It is suitable for people of any age or ability level.
Seeing how quickly people grow and improve through Oom Yung Doe training is always very rewarding. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Lessons.com students will typically go through a semi-private lesson with the main instructor that includes a warm-up, an educational/practice session, and self-defense. Students can also join the group lesson if they feel comfortable doing so. Students who sign up for regular Oom Yung Doe training receive three initial private or semi-private lessons, which include some basic school movements and protocols as well as preparation to enter the group lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Redmond Oom Yung Doe instructors have a combined total of more than 20 years teaching experience in the martial arts, and over 40 years of training experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Training costs range from $120 to $190 per month (plus tax) for up to five lessons per week, depending on the age of the student. Advanced training from Oom Yung Doe masters is also available for an additional cost.
How did you get started teaching?
We have all gained such a great deal from our training, we were deeply motivated to share it with others.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types of students, of all ages and backgrounds, and all types of physical and mental conditions. All have been individuals with their own abilities and needs, and all have gained from their training.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for what the instructor can demonstrate, and seek someone that you feel a connection with. Learning is a relationship between instructor and student as much as it is a transfer of knowledge.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should be able to state some short- and long-term goals, and should be ready to commit to a course of training.
