I can guarantee success to anyone.
I teach in the privacy of your home.
My emphasis is on fundamental skills and terchniques.
It is an easy step-by-step course.
You will learn to play by ear as well as by note.
My course includes theory, composition, arranging, improvising and expression.
I am a professional performer with degrees in music and in education with 45 years of experience.
One of my students won best overall in a Washington state guitar competition. Another was awarded a gold seal for his piano performance in the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival.
After trying to reach 30 or more students in a classroom, I find getting to really know students as individuals and working with them one-on-one is much more satisflying for both of us.
I believe one of my strongest assets is my ability to problem solve and thereby impart to all my students the pleasure of practicing with a minimum of struggle and frustration.
Peter is an exceptional piano teacher. He puts an insane amount of effort into making sure that each student is able to learn to their full potential. From driving up to an hour each way to and from their homes for lessons, to meticulously working out correct fingering for each piece of music, there are no limits to the lengths Peter will go to in order to share the joy of music. He is patient and kind, but does not hesitate to tell you when you can do better. Simply put, Peter Renhard is a good human being. I couldn’t have asked for a better mentor during the 13+ years that he was my piano teacher.
Peter is an amazing teacher. I've been taking lessons from Peter for 3 years now. He takes these lessons seriously and he does it kindly & patiently. I would recommend Peter to anyone I know.
Wonderful piano/guitar teacher who taught me piano from the ages of 6-18! I learned the fundamentals of music theory and piano, and with Peter's teaching participated in many competitions and music festivals including Chopin, Gershwin and Mozart at a very high level. He introduces you to all eras of music including Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Blues, Ragtime, Jazz and Marches. I would recommend Peter to any student interested in beginning-advanced piano. Through his mentorship and tutelage, I learned many pieces I have always wanted to play, including Rhapsody in Blue, Ballade in G Minor, and a multitude of Chopin's etudes. With a relaxed and always cheerful demeanor, Peter will make you realize your full potential, and fall in love with music!
