My teaching approach: Jacob Burrows has 15 years of experience playing the guitar. Being taught by his dad when he was 10, the first song he learned was "Mary Had A Little Lamb". Since then, he has led music for various churches, recorded a 5 song album, led summer camps for thousands of students, and taught guitar lessons to refugee kids in Atlanta. Now he lives with his wife and two beautiful little girls in Post Falls, ID, hoping to bring his passion and expertise to students who want to learn how to play the guitar. My influences are: Steve Vai, Hillsong United, U2, The Fray, Lifehouse My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: Mondays - 6:00, 7:45, 8:30 Saturdays - 1:15, 2:45, 3:30 An * indicates a group lesson time. I would ask them if they knew the names of the strings and to play a couple chords for me. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: The lesson will usually begin with a review of what we learned the previous week and for the student to show the progress he/she has made. Then typically I will teach on the topic of the lesson (music theory, chords, scales, songs, etc). After this the student and I will put into practice what was taught. At the end, we will discuss what the student should be practicing at home throughout the week. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: My ideal guitar student is one who is committed to the process of learning how to play the guitar.
