My teaching approach:

Started playing guitar at the age of 4. Started teaching in my teens and then professionally by age 20. My approach is very relaxed but direct. The lessons are a relaxed and enjoyable half hour. Students quickly achieve their desired results with the proper instruction. All levels, beginning to advanced.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

We talk about their musical tastes. What their objectives are and how long they have been playing ( if applicable). If they have had some experience I will ask them to play something for me. With my many years of experience teaching I can quickly assess their abilities and come up with a plan of action.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Each lesson is private one on one. Very relaxed and non formal. Tailored for each particular student. The student decides what they would like to go over in the lesson and what they would like to achieve. The lessons are fun and exciting. They can also bring in CD's or mp3 players such as ipods and we learn the actual guitar parts from the recording. They can play lead solos over instrumental backing tracks and can get a CD specifically made for them to take home and practice with.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Hungry for knowledge and eager to learn and have fun with a positive attitude .
