About
I LOVE teaching piano lessons. I am in my 18th year of teaching piano. I am also a member of WMTA, and MTNA. I teach students ages 6 to adult. I use the Faber & Faber Piano Adventures Series, along with supplemental, fun material. I include theory teaching in my lessons. I feel one must know the why behind what they are doing, to become a better pianist. I use a rewards system, where students can earn prizes for completing tasks (i.e. passing songs, completing music theory quizzes, good attendance, and participation in recitals). Recitals are given twice a year. Recitals are optional, but strongly encouraged. You may see more at my website, www.singermusicstudio.com. I look forward to working with you!
I LOVE teaching piano. The look on a student's face, when they understand a concept is priceless.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching while in college to earn some extra money. I started with just 2 students, then increased to 6, then 10, and then the studio just took off!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all abilities. I don't like to start students younger than 6. I do have several adults that take lessons. You can never be too old to learn something new! I have worked with students with ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Anxiety, and students in different places on the Autism spectrum.
