About

Hi, and welcome to my profile! My name is Nora Fronjian. During my day to day life, I am a board certified music therapist. Outside of work, I teach piano lessons and do contract or private music therapy sessions. I have a Bachelor’s in Music from Alverno College where I studied piano as my main instrument and prepared for my music therapy board certification. I also have a certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music for teaching Elementary Piano. I teach children and adults beginning piano, and I also teach introductory music theory. I look forward to working with you!

Frequently asked questions

Typically, I use the Faber Piano Adventures series when working with students. I like to utilize the "older beginners" version when working with students age 11 and up. I inquire as to what type of lessons they've done in the past and start them at a comfortable pace, taking into consideration where they are when starting off. I like to also incorporate scales and music theory into my teaching. I also feel it's important to ask if the parents/students have anything special they'd like to learn (a certain genre of music, lead sheets, etc). I recommend 30 minutes for younger beginners and 45 minutes for older beginners/intermediate learners.

*I've studied piano since the age of 6.

*Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy with piano as main instrument I studied for 7 semesters and performed a senior recital on.

*Was music theory tutor at both Alverno College and UW-Milwaukee (I took all of my music theory courses at UWM).

*Succesful completion of and certificate in "Teaching Elementary Piano" course through the Royal Conservatory of Music.

*Four students since the beginning of 2019.

Adult and child beginners. I teach beginner through intermediate.
