About
Encouraging students to find the musical spark within themselves is most important to me, becuase that is what will stay with them long after leaving my studio.
I have been teaching piano lessons for 19 years, mostly in the Milwaukee area. While working on my graduate degree, I taught in Southern Illinois. I have experience teaching children and adults from 5 years old to 75+! I hold a Master of Music in piano pedagogy, a Bachelor of Arts in piano, and also studied piano for two years at the Eastman School of Music.
I teach everyone, including special needs children. Individuals with ADHD, dyslexia, Down Syndrome, and autism are all welcome. My kiddos with autism do not necessarily need to be "high on the spectrum." Students with cochlear implants and visual impairments may study with me as well.
I've completed The Inclusive Teaching Piano Course: Teaching Piano to Students who are Special Learners, with Dr. Scott Price. I also earned a Graduate Degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of Kansas.
I offer participation in competitions, contests, piano festivals, and recitals. My professional affiliations include Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (with which I am the District Chair of Auditions), the Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs (where all of my participating students earned "Superior" ratings), and the Lake Country Music Club
I hope to hear from you soon!
