Hi guys, my name is Stephan and I teach piano, guitar, and vocals. I have 6 years of private teaching experience. I also have a degree in Music Education which means that I can teach in a public school. Over my experience I have taught many different with many different challenges. I've prepared students for musicals as well as going to college for music. I have worked with all different skill levels and I am interested in working with you!
I love working with students. I've been a musician since I was in 5th grade. I love everything about it. My passion for music shows through my teaching. Working one on one with students to continue growth is an amazing experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Setting goals with the student is first and foremost. The student needs to know that he/she has a teammate in meeting their personal goals for music.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's in Music Education. I have also held teaching licenses in two different states.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in college through my major and continued once I graduated
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types between the classroom and the private lesson rooms. I've had transgender, autistic, students with brain damage, students with various learning disabilities including ADHD.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Im really sad that concerts are cancelled right now because of the virus.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who can motivate you and also be patient because learning an instrument can be very tough at times. A good teacher gives you honest feedback. They notice the good things you're doing and motivate you to the next step.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about what instrument your passionate and your goals for that instrument. Those in turn will determine your needs.
