About
With over 25 years experience teaching, recording, performing, and producing music, I offer a lot of valuable experience and insights to students that they can bring in to the real world. Also, experience playing other instruments and working with other musicians helps me to put the big picture together for the role each person plays in making music.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
By the first lesson, I am able to assess what the student needs to get momentum in the direction they want to go.
Weekly lessons are the best way to stay on target to meet goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of private instruction from the best instructors I could study with and experience performing and teaching marching band, jazz band, concert band, and I currently manage several working bands through B Platinum Entertainment. Studio recording experience on either side of the board.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$25/30min private lesson
$90-$112/month to reserve a weekly lesson (4 or 5 lessons)
How did you get started teaching?
After years of studying with a wealth of great mentors, my most recent long-time instructor asked me to take on teaching for him. The same happened when I was invited back to teach at Highland and Hamilton High School.
What types of students have you worked with?
Young and old, beginner and professional, special needs and very advanced, I have worked with nearly every type of musician you can imagine.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Managing and performing in several bands, I wouldn't know where to begin. Packing dance clubs, rock venues, and resorts, performing special events in variety bands, custom talkshow bands, and even performances as a Star Wars Cantina band. It would be difficult to be any more diverse.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Seek knowledge and experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their current playing needs. (are you playing for fun, or are you building up the skills to tackle a goal?)
