Nancy Sanchez is an amazing piano teacher and all around musician! Over the past 6 years both of my daughters have learned so much from her. She is patient, kind, and most of all, fun! We always look forward to "Miss Nancy" days.

Miss Nancy has been my daughters' piano/guitar teacher for 4 years. She is amazing! Very patient and explains complex concepts with understandable age/level-appropriate words. My daughters say she is nice, sweet, and funny. We love her!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I evaluate each student's musical level and adjust the lesson to fit their own unique learning style.

For my vocal students I like to do effective vocal exercises. Using a wide range of vocal exercises we will warm up and stretch your voice to prepare for training and performance.

For my guitar students, I teach you the fundamental skills you need to learn the songs you love. Beginner classes cover the basics of guitar, such as tuning, chords, strumming, tablature, basic exercises for perfecting chords, and learning easy songs.

I teach Pop, Jazz and Mariachi for Vocal, Guitar, Vihuela and Ukulele students.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BA in Music Performance and I am currently in the Jazz Studies Program at CSULA. I am a three-time Orange County Music Award winner taking home honors for Best Latin and Best Jazz. My music has received airplay on KKJZ, KSBR and KPFK radio. I have been interviewed and featured in the pages of the OC Weekly, Orange County Register and La Opinión just to name a few. My music is currently on Spottify and iTunes.

How did you get started teaching?

I have been teaching for almost 10 years. I started teaching right out of school. I enjoy sharing my musical knowledge with others and take great pride in my teaching methods that have helped a lot of my music student's advance to higher levels of education.
