Kyra Gordon’s Private Voice Lessons
About
I love music, and I love working with folks one-on-one. I offer private instruction for voice, music theory, songwriting, performance technique and beginning piano. Lessons are tailored to your area of interest, and open to all genres and ages.
My studio is a bright and inviting space for making music, equipped with a piano and mics.
I work with many teen students, and focus on helping to facilitate a space for creative practice and self-expression. In my experience, there is little better we can do for self-care than sing!
I love singing, and I believe we should all do it. It is our birthright to express ourselves. I have worked with all ages from toddlers, to folks well into their eighties, and helped them to locate a way to make some joyful noise. It's the best.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will get rolling with technique and warm-ups. I will ask questions to figure out more about your goals and interests, and then we go from there. Eventually we will pick songs that fit you/interest you to work on within each lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Music from the California Jazz Conservatory, and have taught at the Jazzschool in Berkeley for several years. I've studied voice and piano privately with many teachers (contact me for an in-depth list), as well as doing vocal intensive work.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $40 for 30 min, $55 for 45 and $70 for an hour lesson.
