    Frequently asked questions

After getting inquiry, I communicate with the student (or parent), answering any questions s/he might have. I ask his or her goal and previous experience in learning music as well.
I have had extensive training in both performance and teaching of music that led to my doctoral degree and have had taught students for 19 years both privately and at colleges.
My starting rate is $35 for 30-minute lessons, $50 for 45-minute lessons, and $65 for 60-minute lessons.
I started teaching when my acquaintances who knew of my accomplishments asked me to teach their children.
I have worked with students of all ages and levels.
A student of mine started practicing regularly following my suggestion and gained confidence and a sense of ownership of his life.
In order to use everyone's time and resources wisely and make the best out of the experience, keep the following in mind: 1. Find someone who is well-qualified and knowledgeable. 2. Communicate your needs clearly. 3. Be flexible and follow suggestions or guidance given by the teacher as appropriate. 4. Be punctual, reliable, and respectful.
Think about why you want to learn to play and if you will be able to devote time to practice regularly to reach your goal.
