In your first lesson, I would like to hear some of your interests, goals, and motivations for learning to play guitar. As I learn about you I will be building an approach for you specifically. As you improve we will take each challenge on in a manageable way. We'll break them down one by one as we are learning chords, scales, techniques, form, and of course, some of your favorite songs.
I have and have had students of all ages, walks of life, and range of challenges. If there is a specific musical interest you have we can concentrate on that and areas pertaining to it.
I believe in having an efficient process when learning to play guitar. I concentrate on that with my students as just as I do with my own playing. Once we developed a good approach, everything will feel easier.
Throughout my own journey, I have had many challenges and many great teachers. For my first few years, I myself was without an instructor. At age 18 I attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. I can say without any doubt, having a knowledgeable, experienced, and attentive coach to encourage and to guide through the process is IDEAL. I improved immensely from that point on and to this day.
We are all unique and learn in different ways. I have confidence that we will be able to connect and you will feel excited about learning to play.
Music has been one of the most important things in my life. It has been something I have leaned on in good and bad times. It is for expressing, celebrating, grieving, and any other emotion you feel. It expresses a feeling to me that I can't quite put in into words. I am happy to be part of anyone learning that wants to make music too.

I charge $50/30min and $70/hr. Payment for the month at the beginning of the month.
Same day cancellations or if the student is a "no show" will, unfortunately, lose the credit for that lesson.
If you need to cancel or reschedule and you notify me at least 24hours in advance there is no charge for the missed/rescheduled lesson.
If a lesson is missed that cannot be rescheduled, the credit(s) for the missed lesson(s) will roll over to the following month and you will only pay the difference.
I like to first see what the skill level of the student is, if any. Then I like to find out what the student is most interested in learning. Would you like to learn how to play songs that you love? Learn how to solo like your favorite guitar player? Learn how to write your own songs? Once I have a clear understanding we can begin at the appropriate place.
