Nice to meet you :-) My name is Seth. I am an internationally recognized recording artist with 20 years of professional touring as lead singer and guitarist under my belt. I am also a multiple award winner for Best Live Performer, Best Songwriter, Best Vocalist. I have been playing guitar for over 35 years.
Before anything, please know that my approach will start off relaxed and remain relaxed. You are the priority and the key to my teaching is helping you feel comfortable and confident that you CAN!
My goal is to start teaching you "WHERE YOU ARE NOW". What I mean is if you've never played guitar, then we'll even start off with the basics of how to hold a pick, how to position the guitar on your lap, etc. I want to give you the right tools early so you learn CORRECTLY FROM THE START! Otherwise, yuo may learn wrong and trust me, unlearning is a lot harder!
I have 7 albums that I've released with solid success. My latest is a 25 song double album called "Cover - Part I" which you can find on the sethregan.com website.

First off, thanks for cconisdering me as your guitar teacher :-)
I am a professional guitarist, also lead vocalist, voice artist, producer, engineer, professional graphic/website designer, marketer. I write music that speaks to my audience through relatable experiences and insights. My sound is one that combines classic and progressive rock influences with a modern pop/rock vibe.
My music has been used in commercials and TV/film, same for my voice. I'm pretty good at what I do and would be glad to talk to you about helping you achieve your goal of learning "practical" guitar techniques, not just what a stuffy teacher will have you learn from a book. I'm happy to explain more when we speak initially, but imortantly, I want to LISTEN to what you have to say, what your goals are, what you'd like to learn.
A bit more about my later career... After 20 years of professional touring with various cover and original bands, I discovered an online virtual world called Second Life in 2006. Second Life was a growing 3D Virtual Community where I began to perform (stream) my shows regularly under the name "Mankind Tracer". Quickly becoming a fan favorite, I am humbled to have risen to being one of the top performing artist and maintain that status today, among the now hundreds of performers in SL. Many of the millions of global members have become familiar with my music and brand. During my time performing in Second Life, I was honored to be the recipient of the most prestigious awards including "Best Live Performer", "Best Singer Songwriter", "Listener's Choice Award" and the "2011 Best of SL Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to Second Life" as well as "Second Life's most widely recognized rock performer".
I only bring this up to let you know that I take my music very very seriously and do the same for my students. I am ready to take on a few more students. Will you be one?

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is listen! I welcome you to initially let me know where you are with your guitar skills, beginner, intermediate or more seasoned and of course what your goals are.
We'll take it from there. My main focus is to get you on the road to quick starting and improvement with a target on achieving your goals!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 40 years playing guitar professional. I also hold degrees in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering and Psychology. I toured as a professional lead singer and guitarist for several bands for over 20 years. I then transitioned to become one of the most well know performers in virtual worlds, like Second Life, which have many millions of subscribers between them all.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not go for the standard $50 or more for a half hour. I only charge $30 for a half hour lesson and $50 gets you a full hour. Students are urged to book blocks of time weeks or months ahead to ensure you get the time slot(s) you want. I am not one to take on that many students as I like to focus on the few, individually, giving you my full attention which isn't always possible with too many students.
How did you get started teaching?
Out of the love for music. I truly enjoy being able to see students, young and old, start sounding like the rock and pop stars they're destined to become, even the small steps they take, the moments when they succeed, whatever that stage may be! It's a great feeling when I see a student's eyes light up when they hit that "eureka moment" when they can finally play that song or even that chord they've been trying to play.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Hearing my own music played on the radio, on a TV commercial or in a movie or show is a great feeling!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A music teacher should relate to their student not only musically, but they should understand the student's personality and be able to relate on mutiple levels.
Even though I've had my share of fame, and still do, I pride myself on being friendly and open, easily approachable and empathetic to my students' needs. It doesn't matter how famous a person is, they still need to be NICE! :-)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student should have an idea of where they want to go with their music, what style, what direction, etc. or even what song they want to be able to play.
