Hi, I believe music is for EVERYONE, even if we don't all learn the same way. I will find a way to connect with each student, and make it fun; we will find the doorway that leads to music for you. I will teach you to LOVE music.
It never gets dull. I love teaching students with different learning styles from me-- it's so fascinating. I am classically trained, and struggled a bit with ear training,so I love it when students have a natural talent to pick up tones they hear! It seems so miraculous! But, I also like to work with students who are just like me, because now I know a lot of tricks and shortcuts for them. I love that my job has variety, and I get a lot of time to get to know each student.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know the student first and try to make them laugh. Always lots of anxiety first time, so I want them to know I like fun and joy just as much as they do.

I started teaching in high school when my parents' friends asked me to teach their kids. I couldn't even drive yet.
