In the past 5 years, having Nikoliy as a guitar coach and teacher is one of the best memories to experience. I discovered that I have the ability to play a musical instrument such as the guitar. My father recommended hiring a teacher to visit my home and provide a personal 1-on-1 tutoring.

Once every week for the next 5 years, each week I was always ecstatic and looked forward to having tutoring and I was impatient about what I could learn in the next tutoring-session provided.

In my personal opinion, compared to the musical teachers that I had during my entire high school experience, I would say they cannot compete against Nikoliy. In terms of skill and his godly ability as a musical instrumentalist as a classical and Spanish-romance guitar teacher, a coach and a musicalist.

Hands down, I highly recommend anyone no matter what level of experience, he is willing and able to share his knowledge with anyone. He is extremely skillful, understanding, patient, reciprocating, available, affordable and especially able to go back to a previous guitar lesson and re-explain things without hesitation. For example, he’s able to write down both the chords and the tabs; he improvises the sounds of the whole band in a rock group from the drums, bass, etc. and computes all the sounds which is extraordinarily rare.

Also, if there’s a song that he is teaching me and notices in the musical notes that he finds displeasing, I am impressed by the way he translates his certainty to manipulate the narrative of the entire song and makes it sound like an all-star high-quality performance. With his improvisation, he makes the author look like an amateur and thus wows the audience.

Looking back at a memory I had during high school, which was almost 17 years ago, I had an assignment that was the same as everyone to perform a song for the class. When I presented this simple song to Nikoliy, he had the unique ability to translate and interpret it into something ten times better in his own way. Basically, he is able to take any song no matter how and what level of difficulty the song is written, to improvise and match to the student’s level of skill in attention making it a high-quality song and this made me stand out from the rest of the other guitar players students.

Lastly, another gift I would like to point out is that he can understand by ear when a song is using a guitar, a piano, or a trumpet. He is able to translate it into a musical note for students learning how to play the guitar.

On a similar note, he can listen by ear to any song or music particularly played by a guitar and can immediately and practically translate it into working musical notes for any level of skill for the student no matter what the situation is.

Ultimately, in the end, I am honored and appreciative for having the opportunity to witness such talent and gifts to be his guitar student. Like I have mentioned previously, I loved every minute, every lesson, every memory of my time with Nikoliy as my guitar instructor. He was able to share the wealth of his knowledge with me and improvisations are amazing.

Currently in 2020, I don’t practice guitar regularly as I have many years ago because I am attending college and I am unable to afford the lessons. I can honestly express that I do miss learning and playing guitar.

Nevertheless, despite these circumstances, I made a commitment to myself that as soon as I graduate from college in the next few years and I am financially secured, I will be able to return to learning and playing the guitar indefinitely. I want to play guitar for the rest of my life until the day I die and or until I am unable to have the strength to hold up the guitar instrument and play. I am counting the days to return to playing and be Nikoliy’s student, so long as he will accept me again as his student. Crossing my fingers!

Mr. Nick is very patient and takes his time explaining guitar lessons with my ten year old son. Awesome teacher!!!
