About
At MadChair, one thing that's very different from lessons elsewhere, is bringing in other musicians to jam in a band type setting once the student feels comfortable. This has proven to be a great aid in getting the student accustomed to performing with others if this is one of their personal goals. I am well versed in blues, rock and roll, metal, classical, funk, jazz, and reggae, and of course have always been passionate about teaching, no matter what style you're into.
I teach through Thumbtack as well, and my favorite part of teaching of course is watching my students progress! It benefits me for them do well so my brain is always in teacher mode no matter where I am.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I figure out what their comfort level is on guitar if anything. And of course beginning guitarists are always welcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of guitar lessons and regular live performances with many other respected bands. I am also rated "Top Pro" on Thumbtack.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
50 per hour 55 for in home lessons.
How did you get started teaching?
I was originally self taught before studying with Dr. Wermier at Villa Musica for 6 years. I have also started up numerous bands to be able to perform live regularly. This has helped me to develope my own voice on the guitar which helps to shape my playing to this day.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with students of all ages from children to seniors and novice to advanced. All ages and backgrounds are welcome. Some of my students use Skype or FaceTime as well which has proven to be a great option.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What type of music they want to learn to play, and if they are interested in learning theory (the building blocks of music, learning standard notation, and how it all fits together).
