What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Talking about their level of playing, where they want to go and what kind of music they are interested in. Just getting to know the individual and their interests. Its very important to just start with a conversation. So lets start there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Hands on from a young age. I grew up in a family of musicians and while I've had no formal training, I've been playing bars, music clubs and such since I was 15. I started going to college for art and music at 16 but decided to focus on recording work and touring work instead. I've been a professional musician for nearly 20 years now.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates are $75 for a single hour session of $200 for 4x1hr sessions, essentially paying for a month at a time.
How did you get started teaching?
My father taught on the side to help bring in some extra money, I got into it originally because of him and then took a break from it and came back to it in my 20s. Between touring and session work/gigging I love picking up students and sharing the joy of playing music.
