About this pro

I'm a very patient and nuturing instructor. I make sure that my students have fun while learning their instrument. I even make learning music theory fun.

I enjoy the fact that I get to give the gift of music to someone else. It sounds a little cheesy, but it's true.

When it comes to teaching music, Ozzy is the rare combination of talent and patience. Not only does he have the "cool" factor, but he can play at LEAST 5 instruments at an expert level, so his understanding of music theory, technique, composition, and performance is astounding. He also plays and has played in numerous bands which helps give his teaching a real life experiential depth to it. Look no further than Ozzy!

There are dozens of talented musicians in LA. But not all of them are talented teachers. Ozzy is both. So when you get lessons from him you're not just getting someone who knows music really well you're getting someone who knows how to teach YOU music really well. Not only that, he's talented on multiple instruments so you could basically hire this guy to train you're entire band if you wanted to.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

He has earned a Bachelor of Music with a concentration in composition from the Cole Conservatory of Music, an Associate of Arts specializing in Guitar Performance and Music Business from world renowned contemporary music school The Musicians Institute and an Audio Recording/Production Certification from the Fullerton College Department of Music Technology.

He has studied under the expert tutelage of esteemed and distinguished composers such as Pulitzer Prize nominee Bruce Miller Ph.D. and Ronald Caltabiano D.M.A. (protégé of Elliott Carter, Vincent Persichetti, and Aaron Copland). He has also studied film scoring with composer and film music veteran Perry LaMarca and had previously worked for two-time Academy Award winning songwriter/composer Al Kasha and Grammy Award winning songwriter Jeff Silbar. He has also worked at Remote Control Productions (Hans Zimmer) and Sacred Tiger Music (Henry Jackman) and in 2012 he was chosen to participate in the Society of Composer and Lyricists Mentorship Program.

A multi-faceted musician drawing upon a breadth of musical performance experience and wide array of musical genres, he is comfortable writing for the concert hall or rock venue as well as writing music for film and other media. He has also been actively involved in the independent Los Angeles music scene with several writing partnerships, recording productions, and performance ensembles. He has also been part of national touring bands including Avid Dancer (Fat Possum Records) and has toured in support of bands including Cold War Kids, Hamilton Leithauser, Delta Spirit, and Kopecky.

An ardent devotee to all things related to electronic and digital music technology. Always keeping up to date  with new software and apps, digital and analogue audio equipment, electronic effects units, computer technology, electric guitars and amplifiers, and synthesizers.
