About

I love to watch someone discover the joy of learning music. I have spent most of my life dedicated to getting deeper into music. In 2010 I graduated from University of Oregon with a degree in Jazz Performance. Since then I have toured the world teaching and performing my own music as well as any style that is putting food on the table that week. I have taught at School of Rock Lake Oswego(Oregon) and School of Rock Fairfax (Los Angeles). In 2024 I taught again at the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, where I have been been attending/teaching since 2004. I make my living performing and teaching.

I love the fact that anytime I have an instrument in my hand, I am potentially improving and gaining experience!

Yo this guy is amazing! Very transparent and works towards goals that you are interested in, not a standard cookie cutter 12 week guitar course. Hes been teaching for 16+ years and you can really see the love he has for teaching when hell sit with you for an extra 20 minutes past the schedule and not ask for a single dime extra for it. Ive taken about 4 weeks of lessons with him and have already booked him for the next 6 months. Absolutely book him before he goes on tour!!

It is not just about hitting the right note, it is about relaxing and really feeling the joy of the music, of the perfect sound. It is an approach that is both unique and effective.

Kenny has been my teacher for over a decade now and has had a gigantic influence on my playing. Guitar, mandolin, and mostly the essence of musicianship. It’s hard not to be inspired around him and I look forward to many more years of learning and jamming. He is definitely the best teacher I’ve had..

He was an accomplished musician but also had a depth of knowledge. I’d recommend him to anyone, at any level of practice.

    Frequently asked questions

Call me or text me to talk about this! I love to find out what my students are passionate about.

I have been studying music since I was ten years old. 27 years of study and experience, plus I have a degree in Jazz from the university of Oregon. I also have made my living in music since I was 18.
I charge $100 per hour. I charge more than many teachers on this site because of my teaching style. First lesson can be half off if you are curious to see why I charge that much.
I started because I needed to teach the friends around me how to play at age 14. We were starting a band and I was the only one who knew how to play. That is why my style is gentle, and directed.
I have worked with all ages. I currently teach a few rock stars that you may have heard of.
