Bay Area Voice Lessons
About
We utilize the Visual Feedback Technique as a compliment to our vocal training. In lieu of the traditional piano accompaniment, we use powerful vocal training software displayed on a large 4k TV monitor that provides visual feedback for enhanced vocal training.
Our Visual Feedback Technique (VFT) illuminates vocal characteristics that may not be clearly perceived by the student otherwise. For instance, if the student is having difficulty in matching pitch, then the display will show the student the target pitch compared to the pitch they are singing to help them reach their goal.
The next step is to work on a song that the student has chosen. They should sing songs that they love, and the style of music that inspires them as this will encourage regular study of the material.
I most enjoy watching when a student experience a "vocal breakthrough", as they learn ways to get the most out of their singing voice.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To begin with we will meet for a 1 hour INTRODUCTORY lesson, then if student decides to move forward with regular lessons, they will schedule a SINGER SAVER package to schedule 4 to 6 lessons ahead.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 30 years experience as a singer, songwriter, and performer. I received many years of formal vocal training and I am still actively performing to almost always "sold out" audiences. I offer a modern approach to learning singing by allowing students to work on music of their choice.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard hourly rate is $65.00, however after the Introductory lesson, the lessons are $60 for 45 minutes. When a student purchases a SINGER SAVER package, they will receive $5 to $10 off of each lesson.
How did you get started teaching?
In 2012, I graduated from college as an adult student and fell in love with the learning (and teaching) process. I have always had a passion for singing and performing, and for showing others how to get the most out of their voice.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with singers of all levels, all music styles.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is important to know what your singing goals are before coming to the first lesson as this will help you to determine if there is a good match between Voice Coach and Student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Please take time to decide if you are ready to make a committment to voice lessons (usually weekly), and to spending time in between the lessons to practice.
