About
I have been a personal trainer for the over 10 years, and competeing as a professional athlete nearly 15 years. With certifications in all kinds of exercise techniques, including corrective exercise, a degree in nutrition and experience designing routines for all kinds of goals, I am sure I could build some routines that would work well for you.
My small training facility is focused on functional training. Whether you are trying to improve your overall health and fitness, focus on sports performance or just trying to live pain free, my gym is built to bring out the athlete in you!
I enjoy having the opportunity to help people find their joy in fitness! We all have goals and timelines to acheive them, but being able to find ways to enjoy your food while while eating healthfully and create different workout plans along the way is what will make them a life changer, rather than a short term mission!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start with a free session! We use the first few minutes to quickly go through some of your goals and workout history, then it is onto the workout floor!
We will focus on some of the most important training techniques you'll need to workout safely in the gym. We will also make sure you learn some corrective movements for any of the aches and pains you may be dealing with.
After that, we will start building out a workout routine based on your goals so you can see what a typical workout would hold if we decide to train together more.

How did you get started teaching?
I began training at a local gym chain here in the Sacramento area following the completion of my Bachelor's degree. As their policies began to favor profits over clients, I broke away to open MAP Training in order to make sure my clients were getting the best possible training opportunities.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have experience with athletes, elderly, knee and related tendon replacements, Shoulder surgery recovery, MS patients, Pregnant clients and plantar fasciitis. I've also worked with clients dealing with depression and other mental issues.
In short, no matter what, we can make it happen!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a client of several months tell me he just reached 60lbs lost since we began our training!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Qualifications are great, but having a chance to speak with a trainer or even meet them in person is always going to be the best way to see if they are dedicated to helping you.
It's ok to be picky! Make sure your trainer either has the look you want to have or has experience with the training you are looking for.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. What is your specific goal (i.e. timeline, goal weight, goal ability, etc.)
2. Why do you want a trainer in the first place (i.e. lack of motivation, need gym guidance, etc.)
Anything you can think of that your trainer may need to work with and/or around to make sure you are able to stay on track with you plans!
