Simeon was great! He was very accommodating to my busy schedule and catered to exactly what I wanted to learn (in my case, self defense!). He definitely taught me well in a very fun and safe environment. He knows what he is doing and didn’t charge me an absurd amount of money to learn from him. Highly suggest!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

New students are encouraged to attend a 20 minute private trial class before signing up.  This gives a chance to learn a few basics, get a sense of who the instructor is, how well you are able to learn in the environment, and to see if you enjoy the class.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

4th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do certified through kukkiwon

1st degree black belt in sinmoo hapkido certified through Grand Master Ji Han Jae

Associates degree in Early Childhood Education

Trained in de-escalation strategies for persons with special needs.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

One class a week is $90 per month

Two classes per week is $120 per month

Unlimited classes per week is $150 per month

Dicounts available for additional family members

Prepayments for 6 months or 1 year options available for dicounted rate

How did you get started teaching?

Became assistant instructor during highschool. This lasted for 3 years before taking over the school from previous owner.

What types of students have you worked with?

3 year olds up to students over 50 years old.  All students are welcome.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Recently had a student of over ten years stop by after a long absence to let me know they got into the college they wanted to and to say thank you for helping them to reach their goals.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Observe a class they are teaching in or take a class from them before signing up.  Everyone learns different and everyone teaches differently.  You have the ability to choose who to learn from.  Martial Arts can be a long term commitment especially if you enjoy it and have an instructor that you are able to learn well from.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What goals they have with their training and in their life.  This can help instructors who really care about their students to assist in developing their self discipline to achieve those goals.
