About
My students want to get more joy out of their singing—whether they are pursuing it as a career or just for fun—by improving their musicianship and vocal technique.
I offer a no-nonsense approach based on the actual physical function of the vocal anatomy and the laws of physics that determine how sound travels to the listener's ear. I'm not going to ask you to "bring the sound forward" (that's impossible) or to "support the tone" (that's probably not helpful). What I WILL do is help you develop the voice through exercise, and apply strategies for expanding your range and improving your vocal tone.
With a master's degree in teaching from New England Conservatory and 10 years on the Education staff at SF Opera, I'm not just concerned with how do we sing, but how do we LEARN, so that each of my students continues to make progress.
