I love music. I always have & always will. I started teaching 20 years ago with no training or previous experience and I realized I had the patience & skill for it. Patience is the best gift I can give to my students because it takes patience to learn an instrument. Most of my students stay with me for 6-7 years because we enjoy working & growing together.

I enjoy showing and encouraging someone that they "can" play an instrument or sing. I've been singing and playing guitar for over 40 years and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I teach guitar, ukulele, beginning bass and piano. I also teach vocals/singing techiques as well songwriting and stage performance.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We talk about goals, needs and schedule. Lessons are no pressure and fun. ☮️
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a professional music artist (30 years) as well as full-time music teacher (20 years). I work with kids age 7 & up to adults. Anyone that wants to learn and will commit to what I'm teaching will succeed. 😊

How did you get started teaching?
I love music! Always have and always will. I left the corporate world in 2004 and started teaching at a local music store. Most of my students are word of mouth. I've had some amazing students over 17 years and have made many long term friendshlps.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages from 6 - 83 years old. I love working with any one who wants to truly learn how to play an instrument.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would suggest being patient with yourself. It's not always easy to learn a new skill. People sometimes get discouraged easily and give up. Stick with it, try to have fun and you will succeed! :-)
