About this pro

I'm a private music instructor with over 15 years experience, with a high rate of success. I teach a variety of guitar and piano styles, ranging from rock, classical, pop, blues, and jazz.

Apart from teaching, I excel in live and studio performance, and can help you put your rig together to find your desired tone -- including effects, amps, electronics, etc.

I also offer a custom course for students that would like to be able to sing and play their instrument, but are having trouble doing it simultaneously. I can address all pitch and timing issues.

I cater to all levels of experience, and can accommodate all learning & playing styles -- "by ear", reading sheet music, improvisation, etc.

It is my passion and full-time career to be able to help my students achieve their musical goals, whether it's learning their favorite songs/artists, writing and workshopping original material, or performing live or in-studio.

  • Ben Willis

He is extremely knowledgeable about theory and is also fun to play with at the same time. He helps you to understand the reasoning behind why scales and chords are structured as they are, and to have a good time while understanding it! He is an expert at his craft, a great person to learn from, and a great friend. Love you, Javier!

Over the years that I have spent developing my guitar playing skills with Javier, he's helped me grow from barely being able to play "Smoke on the Water" to performing "Stairway to Heaven" onstage at the Whiskey A Go Go. Javier does an amazing job at helping anyone develop their musical talents, while simultaneously providing friendship and guidance for years to come. I highly recommend him to anyone that is serious about guitar and music in general.
