Instructing youngsters and adults in martial arts for over thirty years has been a great passion as a teacher in the arts. I work with the individual student in their goals and how they see themselves at the end of the lessons. How empowered they will be and the self confidence has grown in their personal life. I have instructed in kickboxing, self defense, martial arts, weapons and Tai Chi and have enjoyed all the arts. Teaching in the Army was my first time as an instructor in the U.S. and Thailand, I have instructed also at YMCA and LA Parks and Recreation and trained Professional Karate fighters for Limalama our martial arts system. In the last few years I have instructor private lessons and group lessons in the Valley and Ventura areas.
I have an eight degrees as a black belt a master in the arts in Limalama Nokaoi. I also have a Brown Belt in Kenpo in my early days of training. I can help anyone learn at their pace based on their ability, pyhsical condition and what they want to achive for themselves.

People from all different walks of life bring separate goals they want to achieve and that is what drives me to help. As they start to gain confidence in themselves and become stronger that brings joy to me as an instructor that I was able to help them. I have differnt programs to fit all my clients no matter what age or gender. My client's challenge is my challenge.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Asking the new student, what are they seeking in self defense lessons. Their physical condition and are they able to do stress conditioning or are they limited. What is their interest in self defense. What day of the week, time and the best place for the lessons.
When the first lesson is done I informed the client how I will proceed with a program that will fit their needs and goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Trained in the arts for thirty years in Kenpo, Limalama Nokaoi and created self defense programs for all ages. Still training with senior Black Belts in our system for keeping the techniques, forms and weapons training for all students and clients.

How did you get started teaching?
When I turned Brown Belt, I was in the service and that was the first time I instructed and enjoyed the martial art teaching and how helping people realize their empowerment gave me great satisfaction and this is still today a great joy. And I have enjoyed instructing ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students and clients who have had physical problems and helped them changed their outlook on their lives for the better. These students are most challenging because they all have their own time for improvement.
I have helped women gain self confidence to stand up for themselves in any situation.
My training as also included individuals who wanted additional training in boxing, self defense and martial arts to achieve the next higher belt.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I teach at two public parks with children to adutls as students. We had Xmas shows at both parks and I asked for volunteers to perform and the students said yes they would. I was very pleased the demostrations went very well, the kids and adlts performed at their best. Good memories for the end of
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
How many ways can the instructor teach a technique. This will show his experience, ability to teach and modify for the student. Does the instructor have enough programs to teach the interests of the client.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are they really serious about learning self defense. What types of self defense will fit their needs. In talking with the instructor do they feel comfortable and have confidence in the instructor's approach to help them learn self defense.
