About this pro

Instructing youngsters and adults in martial arts for over thirty years has been a great passion as a teacher in the arts. I work with the individual student in their goals and how they see themselves at the end of the lessons. How empowered they will be and the self confidence has grown in their personal life. I have instructed in kickboxing, self defense, martial arts, weapons and Tai Chi and have enjoyed all the arts. Teaching in the Army was my first time as an instructor in the U.S. and Thailand, I have instructed also at YMCA and LA Parks and Recreation and trained Professional Karate fighters for Limalama our martial arts system. In the last few years I have instructor private lessons and group lessons in the Valley and Ventura areas.

I have an eight degrees as a black belt a master in the arts in Limalama Nokaoi. I also have a Brown Belt in Kenpo in my early days of training. I can help anyone learn at their pace based on their ability, pyhsical condition and what they want to achive for themselves.

To see some of my clients and students go to Instgram Self_Defense_Alcala. Plus Thmubtack Inc. for reviews from clients with photos and video.

People from all different walks of life bring separate goals they want to achieve and that is what drives me to help. As they start to gain confidence in themselves and become stronger that brings joy to me as an instructor that I was able to help them. I have differnt programs to fit all my clients no matter what age or gender. My client's challenge is my challenge.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Asking the new student, what are they seeking in self defense lessons. Their physical condition and are they able to do stress conditioning or are they limited. What is their interest in self defense. What day of the week, time and the best place for the lessons.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students and clients who have had physical problems and helped them changed their outlook on their lives for the better. These students are most challenging because they all have their own time for improvement.

Are they really serious about learning self defense. What types of self defense will fit their needs. In talking with the instructor do they feel comfortable and have confidence in the instructor's approach to help them learn self defense.
