About
Hello, my name is James Zota Baker, and I’ve been teaching guitar for nearly 40 years. My approach combines structure with a friendly, supportive atmosphere to help students feel both challenged and encouraged.
While learning a few riffs can be fun—what I like to call the “dessert”—I believe the true “main course” is developing a deep understanding of the guitar and music theory. I strive to maintain a healthy balance between the two, ensuring lessons are both engaging and meaningful.
My goal is for every student to leave with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to step out into the world as a well-rounded and capable musician.
