About this pro

Hills Academy of Music, Art and Dance currently has more than 500 students taking weekly lessons. We have 3 locations, 2 in Torrance and 1 in Palos Verdes.

Hills’ method of matching students with the appropriate teacher has been the formula to success. We know that all students learn differently. We also know that as people, we connect with certain types of people. Making that match with the teacher is crucial to making the learning process seamless and natural.

You can take a piano lesson, then jump into an art class, and also point those toes in your ballet class - all under one roof. Did we mention, we have an award winning Choir as well!

Hills Academy students have won numerous awards including First place awards in the Southern Youth Music Festival, Top 3 in the nation for the Royal Conservatory Music Examiations, and have performed at Carnegie Hall, Disneyland, Armstrong Theater, Warner Grand, etc.

See why Hills Academy is the fastest growing performing and visual arts academy in the South Bay.

We hope to work with you soon!

We love helping students of all ages, children to adults, enjoy life a little (a lot) more through the vehicle of music, art and dance. We are here on this journey with you!

The facility is big, clean and always so family-like. The director, who has the same name as me, Jane, loves her school and it shows. Our daughters teacher, Ms. A is superb. She tests in the RCM program and has consistently scored in the 90s. She was invited 3 times now to the Certificate of excellence Concert at USC. We love Hills.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We have students fill out a brief questionaire re: student's personality, learning styles, strengths/weaknesses, preferences, expectations etc. With this information, we are able to match them with the teacher who we feel would be the best fit.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All faculty members of our music, art and dance department are University trained with their Bachelors, many times their Masters and Doctorate degrees as well.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Group Lesson rates for dance, art, and music vary per class.

Private Lesson rates for all instruments:

30 minutes = $151/month

45 minutes = $220/month

60 minutes = $285/month

What types of students have you worked with?

We work with students of all ages and all backgrounds. We also work with special needs students.
