I have been teaching piano since 1980, and I can't imagine a more rewarding or enjoyable career. I get to combine my loves of music and children with my fascination with music technology. I believe every child can learn to play music and enjoy doing it. I do not believe in music competition, but I do believe in performing and listening to the performances of others. The studio’s achievement that I value most is that my students keep music in their lives. I don’t want their playing to end with high school graduation. My studio blends traditional, private, classically based instruction with a state-of-the-art music technology lab. As the author of "Electrify Your Studio," a guidebook for teachers wanting to integrate technology into their traditional studios, my library of music software and iPad apps is exhaustive. Each private lesson is followed by a thirty-minute computer/iPad lab session. Assignments include note reading, rhythm exercises, ear training, music appreciation and more.My studio includes a 6' 11" Yamaha Disklavier Pro grand piano, three computer stations with keyboards, a full-size digital keyboard, and eight other keyboards used for Keyboard Ensembles. It's a fun place to learn!
