I LOVE singing, creating music and helping others learn to sing and bring out their own special voice or learn to play piano or guitar! I studied classical music since I was 11 years old and then went on to study Opera in College. This gave me a solid foundation for music and music theory but it wasn't where my heart was. Since my decision to leave Opera studies I have experienced many different musical incarnations. In my professional career as a musician and artist I have performed, written and recorded in many genres such as folk, blues, pop, indie and americana. I believe there are no limits to what one can do if there is passion and excitement behind it! I have been in music a long time now with many ups and downs and still love (almost) every minute of it :) I truly enjoy teaching and watching my students grow and surprise themselves. I had the most incredible teachers growing up, they supported me and help shape me as a artist and musician, I strive to do the same with my students. I genuinely care about each individual student I teach and want to help them achieve their highest potential! Lesson Details I approach each lesson catered to the individual. We all have different ways of learning. I studied classically as a child and Opera in University but I professional years have been spent doing a range of pop, musical theater, blues, indie, folk and Americana. I have had many years in the music business and use that experience to help my students discover what they want to do with their voice. Are you an Artist? Do you just want to sing or play piano or guitar for fun? Are you an actor preparing a particular song for an audition? Are you a speaker and want to help your stage presence and projection? Do you want to rock a Karaoke song? Do you want to see what beautiful voice is in there? In all lessons we will focus on the connection of your breath. Basic to advanced warm up techniques, pitch control, projection and full connection to the words you are singing. All music is telling a story and in my opinion that is one of the most crucial elements to a good singer is being able to successfully convey the story. And you will also notice a difference in your speaking voice as well! Most importantly its FUN! I also offer beginner piano, guitar and theory lessons. I believe its great to learn the fundamentals of music and its always fun and exciting to learn something new! Studio Equipment Guitars, Keyboard, ukulele, latest protools, amps, sound booth, recording studio and other fun magical instruments!Specialties I primarily teach popular music styles. I do have a background in Opera. My students have ranged from young children to adults, artist, actors, professional speakers and lovers of music of all kinds that want to learn the fundamentals of proper singing techniques and explore their OWN wonderful instrument or learn piano or guitar!
